A natural gas production pipeline ruptures March 25, 2014. A shrimp boat snagged the line pulling it up approximately 500 yards west of the Copano Causeway. The gas then caught fire creating a large fireball in the middle of the water. Officials at the scene said no boats were in danger and the flame was only “burning water.” No injuries had been reported. Emergency services personnel remained at the scene to watch the flame burn out. (Originally published at rockportpilot.com)
